Dear Family and Friends,
This week started out bitterly cold. M was off work, and B-man was out of school
so we were determined to do something fun.
B-man really wanted to go to a park by our house, so we bundled up,
invited a friend for B-man and headed off.
The park is a very fun park, but it was miserably cold. Bitterly cold! I finally said it was time to go. Poor RM and J’s little hands were
frozen. J was at the park for about
thirty seconds when he fell in the mud and I had to take off his mitten because
it was soaked. We did last for about
forty minutes, but it was very cold. We
came home and had hot chocolate and lunch.
B-man played with his friend for several more hours while M and I worked
on things around the house. We gave each
of the boys (except RM) haircuts. That
night for FHE we talked about Jesus and a picture from the Gospel Art Kit. We are still working our way through “Prison
Break” and most nights we watch two or three episodes before going to bed.
Tuesday morning we were back at the routine. B-man had a good attitude about having to get
up early again and head off to school.
He hasn’t been thrilled about school once he has been back, but he is
doing okay. I took RM to the doctor for some shots. We got behind on his immunizations and are
working on slowing getting back up to date.
After his brush with whooping cough I have tried to be better about
getting the shots done on time. It was
bitterly cold again, and poor J cried about having his head uncovered while
going into the doctor’s office.
Wednesday I had to do the rest of the shopping that I didn’t
get done. It always feels good to get
some food back in the fridge. It is
always so empty by the end of the week! (I really try to use up everything over
the weekend. I’m not perfect but usually
I get through most random leftovers.)
That night M had mutual and then a presidency meeting.
Thursday was a slow day.
Nothing really going on. Friday M
was off of work. He had a doctor’s
appointment in the morning to look at his ear.
They have been seriously clogged.
When he came home he was cured!
They cleaned out his ears and now he can hear again. He is seriously thinking that it might have
been a mistake. Our house is loud… I am happy that he can hear me again, and the
turn signal on his car, etc… We had a
really fun date during the boys’ nap. We
watched “Prison Break” while eating a delicious lunch in the basement. It was seriously fun. The boys woke up during the last fifteen
minutes of an episode, but it was still worth it. After B-man got home we headed to the
park. After the bitter cold we had near
sixty degree temperatures. It was
heavenly! The park was lovely and then
we came home so I could work on dinner.
After dinner we had a family party.
Then after the boys were in bed M went to see a movie with a friend.
Saturday morning I went to a random garage sale. There really aren’t any right now, this was
just a fluke. I found a few things and
then I went and met M and the boys at B-man’s first basketball practice. He is playing on a team that is organized
through a local church. It seems really
well organized so far, and they try to keep it all very fair. The rest of the day was spent on random
errands and projects. I took B-man on a
little errand and while I was driving I taught him how to draw a star. He can draw a great star now. I don’t know how I managed to let him get
this far in life without showing him how to draw a star. I also finished hanging the last picture on
my “cherry blossom wall.” It’s a wall
with pictures from the various years that we have been going to see the cherry
blossoms in DC. I think it turned our
great. If you come and see the cherry
blossoms you may make it onto the wall…
That night we had pancakes for dinner.
Does anyone else hate cooking on Saturdays? Then we had some friends over to play games
that night. We played “Monopoly Deal”
and had a great time.
Today has been a good day.
M had meetings before church. I
managed to get the kids to church on time, but I forgot a pacifier. Our kids are certainly loud. Maybe they need to have their ears checked
too… Primary was a kick today, the kids
finally seem to be coming out of the Christmas coma they have been in for the
last month. And I made a lot of progress
learning their names. Now we are home,
the boys are in bed, and M has been having a planning meeting for their high
adventure trip this summer.
We love you all!
